On July 22nd, our Executive Director Alex Johnson charged the attendees at National Bar Association’s 90th Annual Convention and Exhibits to make a committment to defend for of children and youth being left behind in our nation’s public school system. Speaking on the panel “Am My Brother’s Keeper: If I Don’t Carry Him Who Will?,” Alex argued that the economic and social benefits of ensuring that all youth have the chance to receive a high quality public educational system far outweigh the investments we have to make today.
The convention, held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites in Los Angeles, brought together attorneys and legal professionals from across the nation to examine issues of racial equity in a wide variety of issues - including early care and education, business, political and academia.
