Amaya Noguera-Mujica

Amaya Noguera-Mujica is a Youth Organizer at the Children’s Defense Fund - California’s Long Beach office. Amaya also supports the development of the CDF Freedom Schools Parent Curriculum for the CDF Freedom Schools Parent University.

Amaya brings to this position a wealth of experience working with historically marginalized and oppressed communities. Previously, Amaya served as Recruitment and Engagement Specialist for Year Up Bay Area, a national nonprofit that prepares young adults in low-income neighborhoods to enter the corporate workforce. Additionally, as the Coordinator and Curriculum Specialist for Sacramento Area Youth Speaks, Amaya engaged high school aged youth around creative literacy development, identity development, and youth empowerment.

Amaya received her Bachelor of Education from the New School University in New York, where she focused on crime, resistance, and policing in Black and Latino communities.
